"We are stacking cards overturned but flawless."
Born in Seoul in 1987, Inseop Keum came from a rigorous education in the sciences and math.
Drawn by visual arts and fashion, Keum decided to moved to New York in 2008 to pursue further studies in menswear at
Parsons The New School for Design. While attending the prestigious fashion school, he had the chance to live by practice the birth of design,
concept to production, and ultimately found his calling as a menswear designer.
Keum was among the finalists of the Parsons The New School for Design and Kering competition,
his senior collection culminating with a theme inspired by geometric objects and by the interplay between light and shadow.
In 2016, Inseop Keum launched his namesake label KEUM, the first collection to gold rush miners,
describing miners desire of turning their lives around by adopting linear line and subtle shape on men's representative silhouettes,
bringing to realization the designer’s vision for clean, strong, sharp lines, and perfection by measurement.
In his designs he contrasts geometric lines with organic lines and incorporates soft, feminine fabrics such as silk chiffon. He combines organic,
flowing pieces that balance elements between both that of couture and accessibility.
Keum, today, continues to refine the juxtaposition between extreme masculinity and the feminine elements.
